Kids Clay Modeling is a structured curriculum presenting 29 clay studio experiences organized by increasing material handling and sculptural complexity.
This curriculum demonstrates how clay materials and modeling actions can be offered within a prepared environment aligned with the Science Art Method™. Educators use these lessons to prepare clay workspaces, observe children’s engagement, and support independent exploration of form and structure.
This curriculum demonstrates application of the Science Art Method™ by Nature of Art®.
It does not teach diagnostic decision-making, developmental sequencing, or instructional judgment.

Selection, pacing, and duration depend on observation, environment, and educator judgment.
How the Curriculum Is Used

Each lesson experience includes:
- an overview of the clay modeling focus
- suggested materials and tools
- notes on what may be observed during engagement
The curriculum supports independent clay modeling rather than copying forms or producing predetermined outcomes.
