The Complete Visual Arts Teaching Framework for educators who want to
teach art with purpose, clarity, and confidence.
Know what to teach • Know why it matters. • Know what comes next.
Most educators are passionate about bringing art into their classrooms, but very few have ever been taught how to teach visual arts in a meaningful, developmental way.
The Art Teaching Blueprint™ is Nature of Art's signature professional training and certification program, designed to give educators the complete framework they were never taught in college, teacher training, or professional development.
Instead of wondering what to teach next, you'll understand why, what, when, and how to teach visual arts with confidence.
Used by educators worldwide across Montessori, public and private schools, and children's art studios, this professional framework will help you create meaningful art experiences that children remember for a lifetime.
THE MISSING PIECE
You became an educator because you care deeply about helping children learn. You know visual arts matter. You know creativity matters. You know children deserve meaningful opportunities to express themselves.
But somewhere along your professional journey, something important was missing. No one actually taught you how to teach visual arts.
Instead, you were given a collection of art projects. Pinterest ideas. Craft activities. Holiday themes. Maybe even a curriculum filled with finished examples.
But very few educators were ever shown how visual arts actually develop in children—or how to build a thoughtful art program that grows with them year after year.
So you do what almost every caring teacher does. You search online. You borrow ideas. You hope the lesson goes well. You wonder…
"Am I teaching the right thing?"
"Should I introduce different materials?"
"How do I know if children are learning?"
"What should come next?"
If you've ever felt that uncertainty… you're not alone.
And more importantly, it isn't because you're a poor teacher.
It's because no one ever gave you a complete visual arts teaching framework.
THERE IS A BETTER WAY
Instead of wondering what project to make, you'll understand how to guide artistic thinking. Instead of copying ideas,
you'll confidently create your own meaningful learning experiences. Instead of feeling overwhelmed,
you'll finally have a professional framework you can rely on for years to come.
That is exactly what the Art Teaching Blueprint™ was created to provide.
The Art Teaching Blueprint™ is far more than an online training program. It is a comprehensive professional framework designed to help educators understand how children naturally learn visual arts, and how to confidently guide that learning with purpose.
Rather than memorizing projects or following scripted lessons, you'll develop the knowledge and professional judgment needed to make thoughtful teaching decisions every day.
You'll understand:
Instead of simply collecting more activities, you'll build a professional way of thinking about visual arts education. That confidence stays with you long after any single lesson is finished.

More than 60 structured training videos guide you through the complete visual arts framework. Each lesson builds upon the previous one, helping you gradually develop a deep understanding of how children learn visual arts and how to confidently guide that learning.
The videos include:
You'll never feel overwhelmed. Instead, you'll feel like someone is walking beside you, helping you make sense of visual arts education one concept at a time.
A PROFESSIONAL LEARNING EXPERIENCE
A Professional Learning Experience Designed to Help You Succeed
Learning to teach visual arts isn't about memorizing information. It's about developing a new way of observing children, planning meaningful experiences, and confidently making professional teaching decisions.
That kind of growth doesn't happen through a single workshop or a collection of downloadable lesson plans. It happens through thoughtful learning, reflection, practice, and guidance. That's exactly how the Art Teaching Blueprint™ was designed.
You'll move through the program at your own pace, giving yourself time to absorb each concept, reflect on your classroom experiences, and begin applying what you learn immediately. Many educators tell me they pause the lessons to take notes, revisit important concepts, and return to specific topics as they grow in confidence.
There is no pressure to rush. This is professional development designed for long-term success—not information overload.
It teaches you how to think about teaching art, not how to follow activities.

WHO IT'S FOR
No prior art training is required. You do not need to be an artist. You do need to be committed to understanding children.
WHY THIS PROGRAM IS DIFFERENT
That difference changes everything.
Many workshops focus on individual art projects. Others provide downloadable lesson plans or seasonal activities. While those resources can be helpful, they often leave educators asking the same question the following week: "Now what?"
The Art Teaching Blueprint™ takes a completely different approach. Instead of teaching isolated activities, you'll learn the underlying framework that lets you confidently create meaningful visual arts experiences for children throughout the entire school year.
You'll understand:
Rather than depending on someone else's lesson plans, you'll possess the confidence to create
A SHIFT IN THINKING
The educators who complete the Art Teaching Blueprint™ consistently tell me something I never asked them.
They don't simply say they learned new lessons. They say they now think differently about teaching art.
Instead of focusing only on finished projects, they begin thinking about the learning process. Instead of asking,
"What are we making today? " they begin asking, "What artistic understanding are we developing today?"
And educators gain something they often didn't realize they were missing:
Professional confidence.
Join educators around the world who are discovering a more meaningful way to teach visual arts.
One of the things gradutes consistently tell me is that the personal support made all the difference. The Art Teaching Blueprint™ combines indpependent learning with real mentorship - opportunities to ask questions, discuss ideas, receive guidance, and gain clarity whenever you need it.
Certification Track
Many educators say these meetings became their favorite part of the program. During our private one-on-one Zoom sessions, we'll discuss:
My goal isn't simply to evaluate your work. It's to help you become a confident visual arts educator you want to be.
The certification pathway is a professional training, application, and evaluation process, designed so your credential reflects real competency, not simply finishing the videos.
Complete the structured video lessons at your own pace. A downloadable workbook supports your reflection, notes, and application throughout.
Attend ssessions to ask questions, clarify concepts, and deepen your understanding of the framework alongside other educators.
When you feel prepared, request a one-to-one Zoom meeting with Spramani. This is a professional review and guidance conversation, not a teaching session, to review your understanding and clarify practicum expectations. Between 5 -7 meeting are required for certification.
Submit a practicum demonstrating applied understanding of the framework within your own teaching context. Every submission is personally reviewed, with feedback to support refinement and alignment.
Upon approval, your Continuing Professional Development hours are issued and your printed certification is prepared and mailed. Certification is awarded only after demonstrated competency and all practicum is complete.
This structured process protects the integrity of the Art Teaching Blueprint™
and maintains consistent standards across every certified educator.
The Research and Classroom Experience Behind the Framework
The Art Teaching Blueprint™ is built upon the Science Art Method™, a proprietary teaching framework I developed after more than thirty years of observing how children naturally learn through visual arts.
Rather than beginning with projects or finished products, the Science Art Method™ starts with something much more important: how children actually perceive, process, and express visual information.
It brings together decades of classroom observation, curriculum development, artistic practice, and educational research into one cohesive approach that helps educators make thoughtful teaching decisions.
At its core, the Science Art Method™ recognizes that meaningful art education
grows through the interaction of three essential areas:
Hi, I'm Spramani Elaun.
For more than thirty years, I've dedicated my career to understanding one simple question: How do children naturally learn visual arts?
I am an artist, author, and art curriculum developer from San Diego, California, and a homeschooling mother. I am the founder of Nature of Art®, a children's art school and art supply company, the creator of the Science Art Method™, and the director of the Art Teaching Blueprint™ certification program.
Over the years I've taught thousands of children, trained educators around the world, authored 13 books, developed comprehensive visual arts curricula, and spoken at international education conferences.
My work is grounded in long-term observation and real-world classroom practice, watching closely how children cognitively and sensorially process art over three decades. My formal training spans degrees in Graphic Design, Digital Media Design, Visual Communications, Print Media, and Fine Arts, and that blend of artistic and professional background is part of why the Science Art Method™ is unlike anything else in the field.
Yet throughout all those years, I kept noticing the same pattern. Teachers loved teaching art, but they often lacked a complete framework for understanding it. Many had wonderful ideas, wonderful intentions, wonderful relationships with children. They simply hadn't been shown how visual arts develops, or how to build a meaningful art program from the ground up.
That realization inspired me to create the Art Teaching Blueprint™, not simply as another professional development course, but as the framework I wish every educator had received before stepping into the classroom.
Because I truly believe every child deserves an educator who understands not just how to make art, but how children learn through art.
WHAT TEACHERS ARE SAYING
That's one of the comments I hear most often. Here are a few experiences educators
